Om Quang Evansluong

Dr. Quang Evansluong is a Broman Visiting Researcher at the Gothenburg Research Institute, University of Gothenburg Sweden. Evansluong is also a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Enterprise Management at the Bristol Business School, University of the West of England, UK. Evansluong earned his PhD in Entrepreneurship at the Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University in Sweden.His research interests center on immigrant entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial opportunity creation process, social integration, sustainable entrepreneurship, digital entrepreneurship.

Evansluong is working on research projects investigating (1) transnational roles of family in the process of entrepreneurial opportunity creation among immigrant entrepreneurs in the UK and Sweden (2) the entrepreneurial process in digital entrepreneurship among immigrant and returnee entrepreneurs in Vietnam and Sweden.

For his research project financed by Broman Foundation for Research and Entrepreneurship, Evansluong is studying the dynamics influences of immigrants’ families in the home and the host country (i.e. Sweden) on immigrants’ entrepreneurial opportunity creation process. To conduct this project, Evansluong is collaborating with a group of international researchers, namely, Andreas Diedrich (Organizing labor market integration of immigrants, Gothenburg Research Institute), Marcela Ramirez Pasillas (Jönköping International Business School), Huong Nguyen Bergström (Immigrant Research Institute); Carolin Decker-Lange (Bristol Business School, UWE) and Dzung Vi Ngo (Hanoi School of Business, VNU).

Evansluong is a recipient of visiting research scholarships awarded by the Broman Foundation of Research and Entrepreneurship (2017-2018) at the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg. He is also a recipient of Vice Chancellor’s Early Career Researcher Development Awards (VC ECR) 2017-2018 at the Bristol Business School.

Recently, Evansluong has been involved in the project ‘Integrera Mera Jönköping’. He acts as an adviser bridging between research and practice supporting practitioners and policy makers in addressing the social challenges of immigration to integrate immigrants into the labor market and into the Swedish society.
