Barbara Czarniawska held a plenary speech at the Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management (QRAM) Workshop "Governing by numbers: audit culture and contemporary tales of universities' accountability" at Kozminski University in Warsaw, 25-26 October.

QRAM Journal will dedicate a special issue to the topic, and welcomes submissions also from the non-participants. Czarniawska spoke of university fashions: mergers and acquisitions caused by worldwide university rankings.
