About Airi Rovio-Johansson

My interest in human behaviour, action and learning in different educations, professions, and in different life-periods, influenced my selection of education at university level. I have education as professional Psychologist and as professional Teacher (subject specialist). Next step is the degree as Licentiate of Philosophy in Education and thereafter Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Sciences. I was approved as Associate Professor in Educational Sciences 2006 at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at University of Gothenburg.

I have an interest in interdisciplinary phenomena and interdisciplinary research. In my research, I focus on how people make sense of communication, talks, and meetings in professional public and private organizations. My research fields are: organizational change processes; students’ sustainable learning processes in education; organizing of subject content, teaching and lecturer’s professional development in higher education; sustainable intercultural and intergenerational lifelong learning.

 At GRI, I am senior researcher, PhD supervisor, and Lecturer in Educational sciences. In European University Association (EUA in 1994-2014), I have jointly with colleagues developed a Quality Assurance System named ’Institutional Evaluation Programme: Performance in Research, Performance in Teaching Quality, and Innovation’ for national (initial stage) and international Higher Education in European countries belonging to European Union (EU).

I have published articles in international and national journals; like books and book chapters published by international and national Publishing Houses.
