Biography

Svetlana's research interest is accounting, communication and regulation. In her PhD project "Investor Relations on the Web", she studied communication between listed companies and institutional investors, geographically and culturally distanced from each other. A particular question in focus was how quality of Internet reporting was enacted in practice of Investor Relations in various institutional contexts. In 2014, the study received the Oscar Sillén prize for the best PhD thesis of the year 2013 in the field of business administration in Sweden.

Svetlana's current project “Implementation of EU-directive on sustainability reporting and its impacts: Establishing a new strategic research network” (shared with Marita Blomkvist) investigates regulation of sustainability reporting. A particular focus of the project is how the EU Directive 2014/95 on non-financial and diversity disclosures impacts national regulation and accounting practice in Sweden. The project is funded by Foundation for Economic Research in West Sweden and aims at establishing international research network sharing interest in sustainability accounting and regulation.

Earlier research projects:

2015-2018 ”Accounting for sustainability - communication through integrated reporting” (with Gunnar Rimmel, Kristina Jonäll and Peter Beusch), funded by Jan Wallander och Tom Hedelius Stiftelse.
2015-2016 “Integrated approach to communications in Japanese companies”, funded by Scandinavia-Japan Sasakawa Foundation.
